It's half two in the morning and yes I am oncall.
It has been one of those very very long day which started with one of our patients who was involved in a motor vehicle accident two days ago having altered level of consciousness. As a result, I had to endure a half hour of nauseating drive in the ambulance. Eurgh. Seriously, one would think the government could spend some extra money on really good suspensions on their ambulance. or build better roads.
Now my partner has gone off to escort a case of placenta previa type III who decided that it will start to bleed right at the moment I came into the ward to review a case of PV bleeding. It's just one of those days.

We heard you..
Tapi nak beli ambulans ni payah sgt ar.. 1 biji dah 500K..
If privatised ambulans, ok kot?
Guess what? That boy with fat embolism, I was the one who saw him at hkb casualty. If I came down to red zone just a little earlier, we might've met (but for some reasons that sort of freaks me out).
If you're interested I can update you on that patient.
hafizahmaha,
I was hoping I haven't divulged much detail so as to people may be able to tally my blog life with my real life....there goes the last few shreds of my anonymity! Haha.
Updates would be good, thanks! Mr I was really upset about this case so inevitably was his two Ortho MOs. Hey, you can also check out the open Lisfranc fracture I sent later that night!
Oh no, you are right, this is getting a tad too weird!
hi... i'm sure you were hoping for faster and more frequent updates about the two pts and not some news that comes a week later. sorry.
so, the easier one first. the lisfranc fracture was operated the same night of his arrival (k-wire fixations). discharged well day 2 post-op with 1/52 appt at our clinic.
then the case with altered sensorium. the last i saw him on thursday, he was still in icu - intubated, not on sedation, not obeying command and restless. ct brain done twice. the first one was normal. second ct showed lentiform nucleus infarct. able to proceed with op (k-nail fixation of rt femur and plate fixation of rt tibia) after he completed cerebral protection - still awaiting ot call yesterday. i'm not sure why it took so long for him to recover coz from what i understand fes usually would resolve after around 48 hours. maybe i understood wrong. i asked the managing team, but my fellow friend couldn't enlighten me much.
told you i suck when it comes to ortho.
